MoonRetentionKit is not a file deletion script. It is a backend-neutral
decision core for data lifecycle governance: given dataset metadata, retention
rules, idle windows, and active legal holds, it produces keep, review,
purge, or hold decisions plus a batch-level purge plan.
The project is useful for services that must explain and audit why data can or
cannot be deleted before touching object storage, databases, log archives, test
exports, or analytics datasets.
It also includes a policy audit layer that can fail risky retention
configurations before deployment, including missing class rules, unsafe review
windows, idle-window mistakes, and personal-data retention below a configured
floor.
