The Steering Committee is a 7 member body, overseeing the governance of the
Kubernetes project. See the Steering Committee Charter for
specific committee structure information.
The Kubernetes Project is granted one of the two Developer Representative
seats on the CNCF Governing Board. This seat may be held by current and
former Kubernetes Steering Members and is elected to a two year term.
There are various cases when the Steering Committee may require interactions
with CNCF, so a dedicated person from the CNCF Staff acts a primary
communication point between Steering and CNCF.
The Steering Committee often deals with sensitive topics and has several
private slack channels to discuss and coordinate with our project representatives.
